Alex Wendler joined Florida State in 2023 and works with the FSU football program in addition to serving as an adjunct professor in Florida State's Athletic Training program.
He joined the Seminoles after two seasons as an assistant athletic trainer at Eastern Michigan, where he worked with the football and women's tennis teams. His responsibilities included daily rehabilitation and treatment while providing coverage of practices and games. He also coordinated insurance and Teamworks appointments in addition to overseeing equipment maintanance, inspection and inventory.
Wendler was a graduate assistant at Northern Illinois, where he worked with football and women's track and field. In addition to his daily duties, he also implemented safety protocols, testing and return-to-play guidelines during the Covid pandemic. He gained additional experience as an undergraduate student athletic trainer for three seasons at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Wendler gained NFL experience by serving as a preseason intern with the Baltimore Ravens in 2018. His responsibilities there included coverage of preseason practices and games with preventative coverage and rehabilitation of injured athletes.
Wendler earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2019 and completed his master's degree in sport management from Northern Illinois in 2021.
