Brandon Smith enters his second season as an assistant coach with the nationally prominent Florida State men’s and women’s golf programs, bringing valuable experience as an All-American player, professional golfer, and instructor to the Seminoles.

Smith assists with both the men’s and women’s programs, working alongside prominent head coaches Trey Jones and Amy Bond. He helps guide student-athletes through player development, practice preparation and competition. During his first season in Tallahassee, Smith helped both Seminole programs continue their tradition of national success.

On the men’s side, Smith helped the Seminoles reach another NCAA Championship Finals appearance in 2026 while the women’s golf team continued to make its mark on the national stage during the 2025-26 season, earning a runner-up finish at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional and advancing to their 10th consecutive NCAA Championship.

Smith joined Florida State after an outstanding collegiate career at Texas A&M from 2017-21, where he helped lead the Aggies to fifth-place finishes at the NCAA Championships in 2018 and 2019. As a sophomore in 2018, he earned PING All-America honorable mention and All-Central Region honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America after recording six individual top-10 finishes and a runner-up finish at the Bryan Regional Championship.

Smith earned his first collegiate victory at the 2019 Pioneer Creek Collegiate, posting a 10-under-par 206 with rounds of 71-68-67. During the 2021 Legends Classic, he recorded a career-low round of 63, establishing the school record during his playing career and ranking among the lowest rounds in Texas A&M history.

A two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection, Smith was also named to the SEC Community Service Team in 2018 and 2019. Following his collegiate career, he spent two years competing on the All Pro Tour before becoming a caddie on the Korn Ferry Tour.

A native of Frisco, Texas, Smith earned his degree in sport management from Texas A&M in 2020. His father, Bruce, qualified for the 2004 and 2010 PGA Championships as a golf professional and was the 2001 NTPGA Player of the Year.
