Cathy Jones joined the Florida State athletics department in 2004 and currently serves as the Seminoles' athletics financial aid specialist.
Her role includes overseeing all aspects of the athletic scholarship process including awarding, disbursement, and compliance with NCAA and federal regulations. She also coordinates the accounting and internal compliance sections for the Office of Financial Aid.
Prior to Florida State, Jones served as the assistant athletics director for compliance at Georgia State University. Her responsibilities included all aspects of the NCAA compliance program for athletics, including rules education, interpretation, and policy implementation. She also was oversight for five sports and the sports medicine office, a role that included budgeting, operations, and personnel decisions.
Jones is married to Trey Jones, Florida State's head men's coach and director of golf. The couple have two children, Jordan and Drew.
A native of Rochester, New York, Jones’ previous experience in collegiate administration includes stints at St. John Fisher College, Georgia State University and Georgia Tech. Jones graduated with her bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University in 1990 and holds a master’s degree in education – sports administration from Georgia State University.
