He also helped grow the Boilermakers' online presence, leading the efforts to establish a Purdue Athletics mobile app and two redesigns of PurdueSports.com, and supervised the office's student assistants.

Before his time at Purdue, Healy was an assistant director of athletics communications at West Virginia from 2015-19. There, he was the primary contact for baseball and men's soccer and oversaw the contact for swimming and diving. His time with softball included hosting the 2014 NCAA Regional and traveling to the Women's College World Series that year. He spent the 2012-13 academic year as an athletics communications intern at Oklahoma working as the primary contact for men's gymnastics and rowing and secondary contact for men's basketball.

He began his time in collegiate athletics as a video services student assistant with the Wisconsin athletics department before spending his senior year as an athletic communications assistant, where he was the primary contact for men's and women's rowing and utilized his video production skills to produce game highlight videos for men's and women's hockey.

Healy graduated from Wisconsin in 2011 with bachelor's degrees in journalism and history.
