Daphne Martin began her career at Florida State University in 2001 and has served in six different roles, including two stints in athletics.

Martin joined the Student-Athlete Academic Services in 2022 as the office manager.

In addition to her administrative duties, Martin assists over 500 subjects including the SAAS Director, sport advisors, learning specialists, tutors, student-athletes, student workers and volunteers on a daily basis with various tasks.

Martin maintains the SAAS budget and is responsible for coordinating travel. She also is the department liaison for human resources, where she manages all appointments.

Martin also coordinates department events, including graduation receptions and the Golden Torch Gala.

Prior to joining SAAS, Martin served as an administrative assistant for University Relations from 2018-22. She assisted with coordinating all events and was a member of the planning committee for President McCullough’s Inauguration.

Martin served as an administrative assistant from 2011-18 for Florida State football, where she was on staff for the 2013 National Championship season. She also was a part of three ACC Championships in 2012, 2013, and 2014. During her eight seasons, Martin also saw the Noles take home the Orange Bowl titles in 2012 and 2016.

Martin served as the office assistant for the offense, assisting the staff with daily tasks. She was in charge of all recruiting and administrative travel for the offensive staff and oversaw all transactions. She also helped the recruiting department with several events, including the Florida State Annual Coaching Clinic.

Martin started at the Institute of Molecular Biophysics in 2001 as a senior secretary. In 2005, she was elevated to an academic support assistant before taking on the role of a grants compliance associate in 2009.

Prior to her time in Tallahassee, Martin began her professional career in 1992 in Coconut Grove, Florida as a secretary. She worked at the Hyatt Regency in Miami from 1994-96 before moving on to the Interval International from 1996-1999.

A native of Miami, Martin is married to Darryl Martin, and she has a son, Malik.
