Emmett Mitchell, a native of Tallahassee, Florida, serves as a graduate assistant for the Florida State men’s basketball program while pursuing a master’s degree in sport management.

Mitchell graduated from Florida State in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and a minor in Hospitality. Prior to joining the graduate assistant staff, he spent three seasons as an undergraduate student manager under former head coach Leonard Hamilton.

As a graduate assistant on head coach Luke Loucks’ staff, Mitchell contributes in a variety of areas throughout the program. His responsibilities include assisting with scouting and statistical analysis, supporting Assistant Coach Gillion with film preparation, coordinating team operations during road trips, assisting with on-court workouts, and helping organize and promote the Luke Loucks Summer Camp.

Having grown up in Tallahassee, Mitchell developed a strong connection to Florida State athletics at an early age. Being able to work closely with the basketball program he grew up supporting has been one of the most meaningful aspects of his experience at Florida State. He credits Coach Loucks for playing a significant role in his development both professionally and personally, providing mentorship in coaching, leadership, and professional growth.
