    Assistant Special Teams Coach
Jake Flaherty was hired as Florida State’s special teams analyst in February and enters his first season with the Seminoles in 2026. He was most recently the wide receivers coach and special teams coordinator at Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee.
 
In his first season at Maryville, the Scots led the USA South conference with 25 receiving touchdowns, while kicker Trey Hampton and punter Jacob Berven both earned conference player of the week honors.
 
Prior to his time at Maryville, Flaherty was an assistant coach at Lafayette under current Florida State general manager and former Lafayette head coach John Garrett. Flaherty coached three receivers to All-Patriot League honors.
 
Flaherty began his collegiate coaching career as a student-assistant coach at Bucknell, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in history and religion in 2014. He also worked as a training camp intern with the Dallas Cowboys, was an offensive quality control analyst at Montana State and was a graduate assistant coaching wide receivers at Miami, where he earned his Master’s degree in 2016.
 
Flaherty battled injuries throughout his college career but led the Bison with 23 catches for 228 yards and one touchdown as a junior.
