Former Florida State linebacker Jaleel McRae enters his second season on the Seminole staff in 2026. He is a graduate assistant on defense with a focus on the secondary.
McRae, from New Smyrna Beach, played three seasons at Florida State from 2019-21, appearing in 25 games with 21 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack. He finished his playing career at Florida Atlantic before transitioning into a player development role with the Owls under Tom Herman. In 2024, McRae was a defensive graduate assistant at Buffalo under former Florida State staffer Joe Bowen, the Bulls defensive coordinator.
McRae played under Florida State head coach Mike Norvell in 2020 and 2021. He graduated from Florida Atlantic in 2023 with a degree in public safety administration.
