Katie Horton, a member of the indoor (2014-16) and beach volleyball (2015-18) teams at Florida State, enters her fifth season as the video coordinator for the Florida State Beach Volleyball team in 2026. She is one of the top record holders – for both sports – in Florida State history.
 
Horton was a three-time All-ACC honoree as an indoor volleyball star for the Seminoles – First-Team All-ACC in 2016 and Second-Team All-ACC in 2014 and 2015. She earned All-American Honorable Mention honors in 2014 as named by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, and by Prep Volleyball in 2016 as a Beach Volleyball player at Florida State. 
 
Horton became the first player in Florida State history to earn 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs a career. She earned AVCA All-East Region honors in 2014 and 2016, AVCA All-America honorable mention accolades in 2014 and was a First Team All-ACC selection in 2016.
 
The Michigan native was a decorated beach player for the Seminoles. Horton was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team and earned CCSA Tournament MVP honors in 2018. She was named to the CCSA All-Conference Teams in 2017 and 2018. Horton helped lead the Seminoles to a 33-7 overall record in her senior season, finishing undefeated in conference play with a 17-0 record. 
 
Horton began her collegiate career at Ohio University in 2013 before transferring to Florida State in 2014. 
 
Horton began her collegiate coaching career as a beach volleyball assistant at Tulane in 2019. She was also the assistant coach for the Chiles High School beach volleyball in Tallahassee after completing her playing career at Florida State. In her one season with the program, Horton helped lead the Timberwolves to their first ever beach volleyball league championship and a 14-1 record. Horton coached the C3 beach volleyball club team and worked as the director of operations for the Tallahassee Volleyball Academy. 
 
Horton was the U16 National Team Head Coach for the Tallahassee Volleyball Academy in 2019 and an assistant coach for Chiles' indoor volleyball team in 2018.
 
Horton earned her bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2019, and began her coaching career as a student assistant at Florida State in 2019.
