Prior to joining Florida State, Melancon spent two years at Florida Atlantic. While at FAU, Melancon served as an account executive of client services for Florida Atlantic Sports Properties managing all sponsorship assets and activations. He also previously served as the assistant director of football equipment with the Owls' football team, assisting with the day-to-day operations and coordinating team travel.
Melancon began his career in collegiate athletics as a graduate assistant with the University of Nebraska football program. In this role, he assisted with day-to-day operations, recruiting visits, and travel logistics.
Additionally, Melancon spent 2019 with the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans franchises as a group sales and service associate, managing fan experiences, game day volunteer groups, and assisting with ticket operations.
Melancon is from Gonzales, Louisiana, and earned his bachelor’s degree in sports administration from LSU in 2019. He completed his master's degree in intercollegiate athletics administration from Nebraska in 2021.
