Scott Trulock joined Florida State in July of 2021 as the Seminoles’ director of sports medicine and was promoted to his current role of Senior Associate Athletics Director for Health and Performance in July of 2025.
Trulock brought 18 years of NFL experience and 25 years of athletics sports medicine knowledge to Tallahassee. He was the head athletic trainer for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2014-21 after spending the previous seven seasons as the head athletic trainer for the University of North Carolina’s football program. Prior to UNC, he spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles and San Diego Chargers.
Trulock began his career in the NFL as an assistant athletic trainer with the Philadelphia Eagles from 1996-98. Trulock then worked for the San Diego Chargers from 1999-2001 before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the director of rehabilitation from 2002-03. Trulock won a Super Bowl ring in 2002 when the Buccaneers defeated the Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII. Trulock also spent the 2004-06 seasons in Denver as an assistant athletic trainer with the Broncos. During his tenure in the NFL, Trulock was a member of the Professional Football Athletic Trainers’ Society (PFATS). In PFATS, Trulock served as the AFC representative on the executive board and also served as the director of research for the research and education foundation. In that role, Trulock was responsible for spearheading the surveillance of injury data to establish trends in injury patterns to NFL players.
A native of Orlando, Trulock earned his undergraduate degree in sports medicine from Valdosta State in 1994 and completed his master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996. He and his wife, Jamie, have two daughters.
