Sudanwa Sitaram enters his third season as assistant coach of FSU for the 2025-26 season and has an elite background in player development, having previously directed a Junior Development Academy at the Polo Tennis Club in Austin, Texas. As director, he worked with and coached more than 30 individuals who were recruited to play college tennis, many of whom went on to become All-Americans and national champions. Among those players was Fiona Crawley, who played for North Carolina and rose to the No. 1-ranked college women's tennis player in America.
During his time as an assistant coach at Texas, Sitaram helped coach the Longhorns to a 26-4 record, a Big 12 Championship berth, and a run to the NCAA Tournament's semifinal round. Sitaram also helped coach Eliot Spizziri, the 2023 ITA National Player of the Year, who finished as the No. 1-ranked singles player and No. 2-ranked doubles player in the final ITA rankings.
As an assistant coach at the University of Texas during the 2022-2023 season, Sitaram provided on-court coaching during practice, training, and matches. This coaching, alongside thorough video analysis and scouting reports, helped propel Texas to a top-10 finish.
Sitaram was a four-year letterman in the Men's Tennis program at Texas from 2011-14. During his time at Texas, he served as a team captain for the 2013-14 season, earned All-Big 12 honors in singles in 2012, and was a three-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection. Sitaram graduated from the University of Texas in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management.
Sitaram understands what it takes to reach the peak of the tennis world as he ranked top-50 in the world in the junior circuit and was an internationally ranked ATP player. As a junior, Sitaram played in all four Grand Slams.
