Jacksonville, Fla. – The fourth-ranked Florida State Seminoles defeated UNF and No. 11 Georgia State on day two of the UNF Invite. The Seminoles’ overall record improved to 19-5. Bad weather seems to be a theme for this season, as FSU’s matches hit a rain delay for the third time this season.
FSU 5, UNF 0
The Seminoles started off the day with a sweep over host team UNF. Florida State currently leads the all-time series 6-0.
Raelyn White and Caitlin Moon earned the first match point of the day on court four. The duo paired up for the second time this weekend to defeat UNF 21-15, 21-16.
On court five, Kate Privett and Anna Long fought through a close first set 22-20. They sealed the win and the second match point winning 21-15 in the second set.
The match-clinching point came from Jordan Polo and Morgan Chacon on court three. The pair held the Ospreys to single digits in both sets, winning 21-8, 21-9.
Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick earned their 45th win as a pair on court two. The pair defeated UNF 21-7, 21-13. Chacon and Fitzpatrick are currently fifth all-time for victories by a pair at Florida State.
Court one finished off the sweep defeating the Ospreys 21-14, 21-17. Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer held the lead the entire time against UNF resulting in their dominant win.
FSU 3, Georgia State 1
The Seminoles went into over a two-hour rain delay before they defeated Georgia State 3-1. Due to the weather and delays, the match was played to decision. Florida State currently leads the series 14-1.
Court one earned the first match point for the Seminoles with duo Brook Bauer and Maddie Anderson. The pair dominated in two sets, winning 21-15, 21-13. They are currently 17-5 on the season as partners.
Georgia State won their only match point on court four. Caitlin Moon and Raelyn White won the first set 23-21 before dropping the second and third sets 21-12, 17-15.
Jordan Polo and Morgan Chacon earned the second match point for the Seminoles on court three. The duo held Georgia State to only 15 points in each set. Polo and Chacon went undefeated (4-0) on the weekend as a pair.
Anna Long and Kate Privett earned the match-clinching point for the Seminoles on court five. The pair won the first set 21-17, lost the second set 21-19 and then won the final set 15-10.
Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick did not get to finish their match on court two as the decision was already made.

Looking Forward
The Florida State Seminoles will be back at home next weekend for the Unconquered Invitational Friday, April 8th and Saturday, April 9th. The Noles will take on Texas A&M Corpus Christi, LSU, TCU, FIU and Stetson.
