CORAL GABLES, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Junior Sardaar Calhoun scored a career-high 16 points to lead four Seminoles in double figure scoring and No. 9 ranked Florida State earned an 88-71 win over Miami at the Watsco Center.  Balsa Koprivica scored 13 points while RaiQuan Gray and Anthony Polite scored 12 each as the Seminoles rolled to their 10th ACC victory of the season.  The Seminoles have reached the 10-win mark in ACC play for the third consecutive season.

Florida State is now 14-3 overall and 10-2 in ACC play.  Miami is now 7-14 and 3-13 in ACC play.

Gray earned his third career double double with 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. His 12 points marks the ninth straight game he has scored in double figures. He was 6 of 11 (.545 percent) from the field and contributed six assists for the Seminoles.  He finished the game just four assists shy of a triple double.

Koprivica also achieved double-figure scoring with 13 points and was five of 10 (.500 percent) from the field. Koprivica is averaging a career-high 10.1 points per game and has scored at least six points in each of Florida State’s 16 games this season.

With 12 points and three rebounds, Polite was another of four double-figure scoring Seminoles this evening. Polite was four of nine (.444 percent) from the field and two of six (.333 percent) from beyond the arc. He has scored at least one 3-point field goal in each of the 13 games he has played in this season.

Freshman Scottie Barnes had a game-high and a career-high of eight assists in contributing eight points.

The Seminoles led 49-28 at the half, marking the 16th time in 17 games in which Florida State has led at halftime. In the first 20 minutes of play, Florida State’s bench managed to outscore the entire Miami team by a 31-28 margin.

The Seminoles’ bench outscored the Hurricanes’ bench by a 57-5 mark in gaining their seventh consecutive win in the series.

Florida State held a lead for 36:40 of the game, with their largest lead coming in the middle of the second half at 23 points (69-46).

Quincy Ballard scored his career-high of eight points and a team-high of three blocked shots against the Hurricanes. Junior Nate Jack scored three triples (.500 percent) in contributing nine points for the Seminoles.

Totaling eight blocks and five steals, the Seminoles held Miami to.340 shooting (24 of 70) from the field and .350 (8 of 23) from the 3-point line. With seven Seminoles pulling down three or more rebounds, Florida State outrebounded the Hurricanes by a 45-36 margin.

Miami’s Isaiah Wong had a game-high of 29 points and totaled four rebounds for the Hurricanes. Anthony Walker led the team with seven rebounds and Kameron McGusty led with four assists.

Florida State closes out its three-game road swing at North Carolina Saturday, February 27 in Chapel Hill. The Seminoles are looking to win at North Carolina for the first time since 2001. The game will tip off at 4pm ET and will be aired on ESPN.
