TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The third-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team is set to open their season at home this weekend as they welcome Georgia State, Southern Miss, Tampa, No. 8 Loyola Marymount and No. 6 Cal Poly to Tallahassee. The Seminoles begin day two of the Seminole Beach Bash at 9:45 am against No. 6 Cal Poly. Florida State is 4-0 against Cal Poly and 2-0 against the Mustangs in Tallahassee. The last time the two teams met was on opening weekend a season ago when FSU defeated Cal Poly 4-1 in Tallahassee.

Florida State caps off the weekend with the final match of the Seminole Beach Bash against Tampa at 4:45 pm. Florida State is 2-0 all-time against Tampa with both matches resulting in 5-0 FSU wins at home.

Due to the COVID pandemic, attendance will be limited in the facility to no more than 130 spectators.  A pass list system has been implemented to ensure staff and student-athlete families will have priority access.  In addition to those family members accessing the facility via the pass-list, there will be a limited opportunity for fans to attend on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis until capacity is reached.

Spectators will need to bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on while enjoying the match.  While inside the Beach Volleyball complex, spectators will be required to wear a mask at all times.  Spectators will be asked to clear the complex at the conclusion of each match so that spectators for the next match will be allowed to enter.
