Tallahassee, Fla. – This weekend, the No. 3 Seminoles will compete in the TCU Horned Frog Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas on March 4th-5th. Florida state enters the weekend 4-0 after going undefeated at the FSU Beach Bash on February 26th-27th.
The Seminoles will face three ranked opponents this weekend. They will compete against Central Arkansas, No. 19 Georgia State, No. 5 TCU, and No. 18 South Carolina. The Noles start CCSA conference play with their matches against TCU and South Carolina.
The Seminoles enter the weekend leading the all-time series against the three ranked opponents with an overall record of 41-1. Central Arkansas is the exception as they have yet to face Florida State.
The Noles will kick off the weekend on Friday, March 4 against Central Arkansas. UCA is coming off a 1-1 opening weekend at the Shoals Beach Bash with a 5-0 win over Hendrix College and a 3-2 loss to University of North Alabama.
The second match of the day for the Seminoles will be against Georgia State. This will be the 14th meeting between the two teams. FSU leads the series 12-1, giving Georgia State their only win in 2015. Last season, the Seminoles beat Georgia State twice, 5-0. Georgia State enters the weekend ranked No. 19 with a 2-2 record after beating Spring Hill College and Nicholls and losing to No. 5 LSU and Tulane.
On Saturday, the Seminoles resume play against South Carolina. Florida State is 17-0 in the series against the Gamecocks. Since 2014, the Gamecocks have only earned eight match points against the Seminoles. In 2021, the two teams met twice with the second meeting in Huntsville, Ala. At the CCSA Championships where the Noles came away with a 4-1 win.
The last game of the weekend will be against TCU. Florida State is 12-0 all-time against the Horned Frogs. TCU and FSU enter the weekend after going 4-0 at the FSU Beach Bash. Both teams defeated No. 13 FAU, No. 8 Cal Poly and UAB. TCU’s fourth win came from a 5-0 result against Southern Miss. The Seminoles went 4-0 against TCU during the 2021 season.
