Castellanos Earns ACC Offensive Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Senior Deyna Castellanos became the first Seminole to earn an ACC weekly honor this season, taking home ACC Offensive Player of the Week. Castellanos helped lead Florida State to two ACC road wins, including a 2-1 win over No. 9 Clemson and a 1-0 win over Syracuse.

Castellanos Earns ACC Offensive Player of the Week

In two games Castellanos scored or assisted on all three FSU goals. Against Clemson, she was very efficient scoring one goal on one shot. Castellanos assisted on the Seminoles’ first goal of the game in the 11th minute and put the game out of reach in the 17th minute with her sixth goal of the season, and second game winning goal. She scored the game’s only goal against Syracuse in the 74th minute. Castellanos led the team with seven shots and two on goal.

She currently ranks third all-time at FSU with 43 goals and 105 points. Castellanos is third in the country with eight assists and fifth in the ACC with seven goals. She is also tied for the conference lead in points.
