TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Sophomore pitcher Conor Grady struck out 20 batters and allowed just three hits in 12.1 innings last week, earning his first career Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week honors Monday. The Tampa native is the first Seminole pitcher to earn the league’s weekly award this season.
Grady earned his second career start Tuesday against Florida, pitching a career-high seven innings and allowing just two hits while striking out nine batters, then a career high. The only Gator run with Grady on the mound was unearned.

On Sunday, the right-hander earned his team-high sixth win of the season in relief, pitching 5.1 innings out of the bullpen, surrendering just one hit and striking out 11 batters. The 11 strikeouts in relief were the most for a Seminole since 1997. Grady needed just 70 pitches to retire 16 batters and he faced just two over the minimum.
On the season, Grady is 6-3 with a 2.41 earned run average and 51 strikeouts in 37.1 innings pitched. In two starts, both against Florida, Grady has not allowed an earned run in 10.0 innings pitched.
