MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Florida State diver Joshua Davidson won bronze in the men’s 1-meter springboard at the 2019 USA Diving Winter Nationals that were held at the University of Minnesota from Dec. 17-22.
The Tomball, Texas scored 716.05 over 12 dives in order to capture the bronze. It was his best finish in any event at the senior national level in his career. In prelims, Davidson scored 347.25 in order to advance to finals in third place. He held his place in finals after adding 368.80.
Davidson also competed on 3-meter, finishing in 13th place with a score of 1,030.20 after three rounds. He scored 325.25 for 18th place in prelims and moved up to 13th in semifinals after adding a total of 388.05.
Senior Cam Thatcher also competed in both springboard events, finishing in 12th on 1-meter (293.45) and 20th on 3-meter (315.60).
Katrina Young (2010-15) also contested in both the 10-meter individual and synchronized events. Young finished in sixth place individually, scoring 907.20 after three rounds for sixth place. She teamed up with Murphy Bromberg for the synchronized event and placed fourth with a total of 593.70.
