TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State swimming and diving senior Tommaso Baravelli has been named to the 2025-26 Academic All-America First Team, announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Wednesday afternoon.

A seven-time All-American during his career, Baravelli has been one of the program's most consistent performers both academically and athletically. Majoring in mechanical engineering with a 3.993 GPA, this marks his second Academic All-America honor and first selection to the First Team after earning Third Team recognition in 2023-24. He is one of eight student-athletes named to this year's Division I First Team.

Baravelli has earned numerous academic accolades throughout his career, including selection to the 2026 Academic All-District Team and recognition as a two-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree. He also was named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District Team and the 2023 CSCAA Scholar All-America Second Team.

In the pool, Baravelli played a key role in Florida State's success this season. He was a member of the ACC Championship-winning 200 medley relay team and helped the 400 medley relay to a second-place finish. He competed at the NCAA Championships as the breaststroke leg on both the 200 and 400 medley relay teams.

The Bologna, Italy, native holds the Florida State record in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:52.37 and ranks second all-time in program history in the 100 breaststroke (51.68). He also is part of two program-record relay teams in the 200 and 400 medley relays and holds Morcom Aquatics Center pool records in both the 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley.

The Academic All-America program recognizes student-athletes who excel in both the classroom and competition while contributing significantly to their team.
