Florida State Begins Homestand with Midweek Matchup Against Jacksonville

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 4 Florida State softball team (32-7, 11-1) returns home for a midweek matchup with Jacksonville (18-20, 4-8) tomorrow night at 6 p.m. at JoAnne Graf Field. The game can be seen live on ACC Network Extra.

The Seminoles are coming off an impressive weekend where they swept No. 4 Clemson on the road. The Seminoles are owners of a seven-game win streak and have won 11 out of their past 12 games. With the sweep over Clemson, the Seminoles are now in sole possession of first place in the ACC with a two-game lead over the Tigers as well as owning the tiebreaker.

Pitching By Committee

  • The Seminoles have taken on a new style inside the circle this season.
  • The Seminoles have used seven pitchers this season, four of which who have pitched more than 30 innings.
  • The Seminoles used four pitchers against Clemson and held the Tigers, who were ranked top five nationally in scoring, to just one earned run.
  • The team boasts a 1.70 ERA which is ninth in the country.

  • Kathryn Sandercock has the chance to put her stamp on the Florida State record during the 2023 season.
  • Sandercock needs just one save to break the single season school record for saves in a season.
  • Sandercock needs just two saves to be the school record holder in career saves.
  • She needs 18 wins to be the all-time FSU leader in wins.
  • She needs just 20 appearances from being FSU’s all-time leader in appearances.

Taking Over Tiger Town

  • The Seminoles are coming off their best weekend of the season as they went to Clemson, S.C., and swept No. 4 Clemson with a 7-0 win, a 4-1 win and a 3-2 win.
  • This was the first time in school history that the Seminoles won a road series against a top five team.
  • The Seminoles snapped the Tigers’ 29 game winning streak at home and their 21 overall game win streak.
  • The Seminoles improved to 7-0 all-time against the Tigers.
