⚾️: FSU Falls in Opener at UCF

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Florida State lost 14-3 Tuesday evening to UCF at John Euliano Park in Orlando. Both teams are now 11-5 on the season.

The Knights led the whole way after scoring five runs in the first inning and two more in the second. UCF doubled its lead with seven runs in the fifth inning.

FSU scored twice in the sixth inning after Jordan Carrion hit his third triple of the year to start the inning. James Tibbs hit an RBI single and Nander De Sedas had an RBI double in the frame.

Freshman Ben Barrett pitched the final 3.1 innings, facing the minimum 10 batters in his perfect outing.

  • Jordan Carrion hit his team-high third triple of the season. Florida State has eight triples as a team, already surpassing its total from 2022 (7) and 2021 (3).
  • Freshman Ben Barrett pitched the final 3.1 innings without allowing a baserunner. It was his second pitching appearance after starting at Jacksonville on February 21.
