TALLAHASSEE – For the second time this season, Bryce Hubbart has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week.
At Boston College Sunday, Hubbart, from Windermere, Florida, allowed just one hit over 7.0 innings in FSU’s series-clinching 8-1 win. The left-hander struck out 11 batters, a career high for a road game and as many as he had in his previous four starts combined.
Both of the Eagles’ baserunners against Hubbart came in the second inning, on a double and a hit batter. Hubbart answered by retiring the next 17 batters.
Hubbart was previously named Pitcher of the Week for his opening weekend performance against James Madison. Paired with Parker Messick’s four, FSU has won half of the 12 Pitcher of the Week honors from the ACC this season.
On the year, Hubbart is now 7-1 with a 2.69 ERA.
