Inaugural Garnet & Gold 4 Miller Race To “Finish On The 50” In Doak

TALLAHASSEE, Florida  – The Garnet & Gold 4 Miler, a running and walking event that will celebrate Football and Fitness and Finish on the 50-yard line on Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium, will be held for the first time on April 11, 2021.

The inaugural Garnet & Gold 4 Miler is open to all runners and walkers. The event will be limited to the first 1,500 in-person participants in its first year, with a virtual participation option available.

The Garnet & Gold 4 Miler will be a Seminoles-themed celebration featuring former Florida State football players and celebrities, cheerleaders and a post-race celebration. The event will start on Langford Green outside of the stadium and feature a four-mile tour of Florida State’s campus before “Finishing on the 50” inside of Doak.

“We are excited to launch our first annual race and build upon the spring game weekend festivities,” said Jason Dennard, Associate Athletic Director for New Revenue and Marketing. “This past year has presented plenty of obstacles, but we are committed to creating a fun event with the health and safety of our fans being the top priority.”

Participants will receive an event themed technical race shirt and a One-of-a-kind Finisher’s Medal that will feature the iconic Florida State Seminoles logo that represents the university’s athletics teams.

“The Garnet & Gold 4 Miler will be a special experience for all Florida State alumni and fans,” said Ray DeWeese, the CEO of REVELxp. “The Seminole Experience prides itself on offering unique ways to experience Florida State’s venues and campus and the Garnet & Gold 4 Miler offers an unprecedented and unique opportunity to run across Bobby Bowden Field and experience Doak Campbell Stadium like never before.”

The Garnet & Gold 4 Miler presented by The Seminole Experience will be produced by REVELxp and M3S Sports, a sports marketing firm specializing in road racing events.

“We are proud to partner with REVELxp and Florida State University University to produce a four-mile running and walking event that celebrates the football and fitness and the passion for the Florida State Seminoles,” said David Babner, race director for M3S Sports. “Finishing this event on the 50-yard line of Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium will be a special moment for our participants.”
