TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – No. 3 Florida State (46-5) walked off No. 11 Florida (38-14) 2-1 after Jahni Kerr hit a solo home run to center field. The game was played in front of the fifth-largest crowd in Seminole Softball Complex history, 1,764 people.

With the win, FSU finished the regular season with a perfect 30-0 out of conference record. The Noles also earned the sweep over UF for the first time since 2006.

Florida jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after a pair of hits in the first inning. Sam Roe singled, followed up by a single from Katie Kistler. UF then loaded the bases after Cali Decker reach on a hit by pitch. A ground out to second scored the first run of the game.

Florida State tied the game up in the bottom of the third inning. FSU grabbed two hits with two outs leading to one run. Kaley Mudge singled to right field and three pitches later Sydney Sherrill hit her 78th career double to score Mudge for Sherrill’s 200th career RBI.

In dramatic fashion, the Noles walked off the Gators with a solo home run to center field by Jahni Kerr. It was the fifth of the season for her. It was FSU’s fifth walk-off of the season.

Kathryn Sandercock started the game for the Seminoles and pitched a complete game, allowing just one run on two hits with four strikeouts.
