LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Cameron Corhen scored a team-high 16 points on seven made field goals and two free throws to lead Florida State to an 81-78 victory over the Louisville Cardinals at the KFC YUM! Center. Corhen led five Seminoles in double figure scoring – Corhen, Matthew Cleveland (15 points), Jalen Warley (14 points), Darin Green Jr. (12 points), and Caleb Mills (11 points) to help Florida State earn its sixth conference win of the season.

Corhen led the Seminoles for the second game in a row in scoring. His 16 points at Louisville put him in double figures for the eighth time in his first collegiate season. He is averaging 12.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in his last four games. Corhen remains Florida State’s leader in offensive rebounds with 39 total, this being his 12th game with multiple offensive rebounds.  He totaled a game-high five offensive rebounds. 

Cleveland secured his tenth double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. He extended his career-best in double figure scoring with Louisville’s game being his 17th consecutive game in double digits. He currently holds the second-longest streak in the ACC.

In only 24 games this season, Cleveland has already surpassed his freshman year total points scored (333), with 340 points scored in his current sophomore season.

Green Jr. moved into Florida State’s single season top-10 for 3-point shots made with three made 3-pointers against Louisville to total 72 3-pointers.  He joins three former Seminoles, Pee Wee Barber (1986-87), George McCloud (1987-8) and James Collins (1994-95), who are tied for eighth in Florida State history with 72 3-point shots made in a single season.

Jalen Warley continued his immaculate assist:turnover ratio with five assists and zero turnovers in Saturday afternoon’s game. In the Seminoles’ two-game regular season sweep of the Cardinals, Warley accounted for nine assists and zero turnovers. 

Caleb Mills’ 11 points were scored on three made field goals and two for two free throws. He has made 10 consecutive free throws in his last three games.

Naheem McLeod scored seven points on three made field goals and one free throw. He has made eight consecutive field goal attempts. 

Florida State started off the first half strong with an 11-3 scoring run. The Seminoles largest lead came 13 minutes into the half at 14 points (33-19).  Warley and McLeod were a perfect three for three from the field which accredited the lead.

Louisville caught steam with a 15-7 scoring run late in the half, nearing the score to 34-40 with only two minutes remaining in the half. Florida State regained their momentum and finished the final minutes of the half making five of their last seven field goals to lead into intermission, 45-36.

The Seminoles’ 45 points scored is the most points scored in a first half this season.

Corhen and Mills led Florida State at the half with eight points each. Florida State’s one turnover was its fewest turnovers in a half this season. The Seminoles scored 11 points off of Louisville’s six first half turnovers.

Louisville outscored Florida State 42-36 in the second half. The Cardinals biggest scoring run of the game came in the second half with 17 points scored versus the Seminole’s two over seven minutes.

Louisville never got the chance to lead the game, with their only opportunity coming in the final minute of the second half with a tied score of 76-76. Florida State led the game for over 38 minutes.

A layup by Cleveland, two made free throws by Warley, and a final free throw made by Green Jr. with only 14 seconds remaining in the game clinched the Seminoles’ victory over the Cardinals. 

Florida State shot 30-62 (.484) from the field, 8-23 (.348) from beyond the arc, and 13-19 (.684) from the free throw line against Louisville. The Seminoles scored 42 points in the paint, 13 bench points, and 14 fast break points.

The Seminoles return home to the Donald L. Tucker Center for two back-to-back home games on Wednesday, February 8th to face off against Syracuse with tip off at 7pm.
