Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer Earn CCSA Pair of the Week

Tallahassee, Fla. – For the first time this season, a Florida State pairing has earned CCSA Pair of the Week Honors. Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer were named CCSA Pair of the Week following a 4-0 weekend against four top-20 ranked teams.

Anderson and Bauer became the 16th pair at Florida State to earn Conference Pair of the Week. They are currently 10-3 on the season.

The pair went undefeated on the weekend at the UAB March to May Tournament in Gulf Shores, Ala. All four of their wins came on court one against No. 1 UCLA, No. 7 Grand Canyon, No. 15 South Carolina, and No. 20 Tulane.

On day one of the March to May Tournament, the duo won both matches in two sets apiece. Against Grand Canyon, the pair dominated, allowing only 12 points in each set. They finished the day with a huge win over UCLA. The pair earned the first point of the match for the Seminoles, winning 21-19, 21-11.

The following day, the pair earned two wins to cap off the March to May Tournament. In the first match against Tulane, the duo fought through two close sets before sealing the win with a dominant third set. Tulane forced Anderson and Bauer to win the first set in extra points 22-20. In the second set, Tulane earned the advantage and edged out the pair 21-17. Anderson and Bauer found a second wind in the third set, scoring 10 unanswered points before winning 15-3. In the last match of the weekend, the pair defeated South Carolina 21-13, 21-11.

This is the first time that this pair has earned conference honors and Bauer’s first conference honor as a Seminole. Anderson has earned this honor once before with partner Sara Putt on March 31, 2021.
