April Traylor Named ACC Player Of The Week

Florida State senior guard April Traylor has been named the ACC Player of the Week after she led FSU to two straight road victories just prior to Christmas. In front of her hometown fans, Traylor hit a shot with 1.9 seconds left to give the Tribe a 62-61 win over the Indiana Hoosiers on December 19th. She had a team-high 20 points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal in 27 minutes of play. The Martinsville, Indiana native shot 63 percent from the field, 50 percent from the three-point line and 67 percent from the free throw line. In the IUPUI win two days later, Traylor led the team with 17 points and a team-high nine rebounds.


For the week, Traylor went 56 percent from the field, 43 percent from the 3 point line and 61 percent from the free throw line. She averaged 18.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.


Traylor now leads the team in scoring for the season at 15.9 points per game and has scored in double figures in 11 of 12 games.


The Florida State women’s basketball team will return to action on Sunday, December 30th when the Seminoles travel to Clemson, South Carolina for an ACC match-up with the Tigers. FSU is 10-2 on the season and has a 1-0 ACC record having already won at Georgia Tech in early December.
