Former Seminole Dexter Carter Named Running Backs Coach

           “I’m glad that we have our offensive staff completed and I’m anxious to see Dexter working with our running backs,” said Bowden. “Dexter has the knowledge and personality we were looking for to work with our offense. He brings NFL experience and he knows what we are looking for in our program.”

           “I’m so excited to be back with the FSU program,” said Carter. “Coming back as a coach at FSU is something that I thought about maybe 10 years ago, but I never thought that things would fall just right.  It just worked out perfectly for me to be able to come back and I can’t wait to get started.”
           Carter, a Baxley, Ga., native, received his Bachelor’s degree in Family, Child and Consumer Development from Florida State in 1998 and a Master’s of Management degree from the University of Phoenix in 2006. Since his retirement from professional football, Carter has continued his work as a motivational speaker, speaking with youth organizations and schools about motivation and success. He also served as a radio-TV color analyst for the Jacksonville Tomcats (2000-02) and worked in the Communications Department at WJCT TV in
           He and his wife, Jennifer, have four children: Dexter, Jr. (9), Chade’ (5), Jada (4) and newborn Devin. His base salary at FSU will be $130,000 per year.
