Seminoles Selected To Face Kentucky In The Music City Bowl

Nashville, TN – Representatives of the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl announced today the University of Kentucky will represent the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in the tenth annual Bowl and face off against the Atlantic Coast Conference’s (ACC) Florida State University. Kick-off will be Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at 3 p.m. CST at LP Field in Nashville. The game will be televised live on ESPN.

Less than 500 tickets remain for game day. Ticket prices for the Bowl begin at $15 and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 615-255-9600 or by visiting MusicCityBowl.com.

“We are very proud to welcome Kentucky and Florida State to Nashville for this year’s tenth annual Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl,” said Mayor Karl Dean. “We look forward to the thousands of visitors traveling to our great city to experience all that Music City has to offer. The Bowl is a great opportunity to showcase Nashville to our friends from Kentucky, Florida State and the rest of the nation.”

Aubrey Harwell, Bowl chairman, looks forward to this exciting match-up.

“Tens of thousands of fans from across the Southeast will again visit Nashville on New Year’s weekend,” said Harwell. “There is a lot of excitement surrounding this year’s tenth anniversary game with Kentucky and Florida State competing. It will be a busy time for local hotels, businesses and entertainment attractions, as well as a great showcase for our city on ESPN’s national television broadcast.”

Quarterback Andre Woodson is bringing his Kentucky Wildcats back to Nashville. Woodson topped the SEC in passing offense as the highest-ranked passer in the SEC at 279 yards per game and 36 touchdowns this year. The Wildcats are making their third Bowl appearance in Nashville. They also played in the 1999 Bowl vs. Syracuse and in the 2006 game vs. Clemson.

Our experience in bringing 50,000 people to Nashville for the 2006 game brings back great memories and this year is a new opportunity for our fans to enjoy Kentucky football in the post-season,” remarked Mitch Barnhart, University of Kentucky director of athletics. “The city and staff treated us in first-class fashion and we’re privileged to be their guests. As an institution, we’ll do all we can to put on a good show. I also congratulate Coach Rich Brooks, our seniors, and all of the Wildcats as we try for our first back-to-back bowl wins in over half a century.”

Florida State is led by legendary coach Bobby Bowden, a 2006 College Football Hall of Fame inductee and the winningest coach in the history of college football with 373 wins. This will be Bowden’s 26^th consecutive season leading FSU to a bowl game.

“I know that our coaches, team and fan base are excited to play against Kentucky in a great destination city like Nashville,” said Dave Hart, FSU director of athletics. “Being selected to play in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl affords us the opportunity to play in a new bowl against a quality opponent.”

Colin Reed, chairman, president, and chief executive office of Gaylord Entertainment Company, is pleased with the decision.

The Bowl enters its tenth year and matches teams from the SEC and the ACC. The 2006 Bowl between Clemson and Kentucky had the seventh highest attendance out of all 32 bowl games, with only one non-Bowl Championship Series (BCS) game having more fans in attendance. The 2006 Bowl marked the first sellout in the Bowl’s history at LP Field and averaged more than 2.6 million total viewers on ESPN. It also generated a record $20.7 million economic impact on the local economy and over 51,000 out-of-town visitors traveled to Nashville.

Several parking options are available, but for those wishing to park in a stadium parking lot at LP Field, those passes must be pre-purchased. No parking passes at LP Field will be available to purchase on game

day.

TICKET INFO FOR FLORIDA STATE

Bowl game tickets will be available to Seminole Boosters and FSU football season ticket holders beginning Sunday night, December 2. Boosters and football season ticket holders may also purchase by phone by calling 888-FSU-Nole or 850-64-Go-FSU on Monday, December 3 at 8:30 a.m. The bowl game priority deadline is Wednesday, December 5, at 5 p.m. The FSU priority system will be used to determine seating assignments.

While there are no limits on the number of tickets a person may order, if demand exceeds supply the Seminole Ticket Office reserves the right to place limits on orders based on the FSU priority system. If it is necessary to place limits on orders, notification will be sent by e-mail only on Thursday, December 6, notifying customers of the status of their bowl orders. Ticket refunds will be processed on all orders not filled if demand exceeds supply.

STUDENT TICKET INFO FOR MUSIC CITY BOWL IN NASHVILLE, TN

FSU student tickets for the Music City Bowl will go on sale Wednesday, December 5^th from 9:00am-4:30pm at the Dick Howser Student Ticket Office. Tickets will be sold on a first-come first-served basis for one day only. Students with a valid FSU ID will be eligible to purchase 1 ticket each. Tickets must be purchased in-person with your own FSU ID. Students wishing to sit together can do so by showing up at the student ticket booth together to buy tickets. The cost of tickets will be $50 each.
