Madison Fitzpatrick selected as AVCA High School Beach All-American

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Incoming freshman Madison Fitzpatrick was named to the AVCA High School Beach All-America Team, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Thursday (August 31).
Fitzpatrick comes to Florida State from nearby Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, Fla. She led both the Trojans’ beach and indoor teams, recording a record setting 1,061 kills – which is second all-time at Lincoln – as well as 735 digs, 138 aces and 104 total blocks.
“We are really excited to have Madison join our roster this season,” said head coach Brooke Niles. “She has had an amazing high school beach career, and although she is only a freshman, she will add a lot of experience and depth to our team.”
This All-American honor just adds to Fitzpatrick’s extensive list of accolades, which includes Lincoln High School’s 2017 Female Trojan of the Year and an All-Big Bend Offensive Player of the Year recognition in 2015. Fitzpatrick was also a member of the USA Junior National Beach Team, where she finished first out of 95 teams, and came in second in BVCA out of 132 teams.
While in high school she received 21 Player of the Match recognitions and one MaxPreps/AVCA Player of the Week honor.
The High School Girls Beach All-America Committee is comprised of Wayne Gant (Great American Volleyball/Northeast), Steve Bishop (USA Volleyball/Florida), Scott Stover (692 Beach/Texas, Central), Jeff Smith (692 Beach/California), West Coast), Andrew Bennett (Tamarack Beach Volleyball Club/California, West Coast), Rian Mariano (RPM Sand/Arizona), Taye Im (Team One/Chicago, Midwest), and Bryan Jones (Southern Sand Select/Atlanta, Southwest).
