Noles Win Three Flight Championships At Seminole Invitational

Tallahassee, FL – The final day of the Seminole Invitational wrapped up Sunday with just three matches and the Seminoles finishing the tournament with an 18-10 overall record and three flight championships. Giulia Pairone won the A flight singles championship, Nandini Das and Andrea Garcia won the A flight doubles championship and Victoria Allen and Anna Arkadianou won the B flight doubles championship.
Pairone finished the tournament at 2-0 in singles, including a win over the nation’s 31st-ranked player, and another two wins in doubles. Das and Garcia were a perfect 3-0 in doubles and secured the tournament’s biggest upset, taking down the nation’s No. 10 doubles team. Allen and Arkadianou posted a 3-0 mark in doubles as well.
Four Seminoles finished undefeated in singles over the three days. Pairone, Das (1-0), Garcia (2-0) and Petra Hule (1-0) were all perfect. In doubles, Das and Garcia, Allen and Arkadianou and Hule and Pairone (1-0) finished the weekend without a loss.
This morning the Seminoles started the final day of competition with Allen and Alice Amendola dropping the sole doubles match of the day 6-1. In singles, Lara Schneider fell to Georgia’s Elena Christofi 6-4, 6-3 and Georgia’s Ania Hertel defeated Amendola 6-0, 6-2.
The Seminoles will turn their focus to the first dual match of the season and the first one played outdoors with fans when USF comes to town for a 4:00 p.m. match Tuesday. Attendance will be limited to 116 fans at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center.
