CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The Florida State women's tennis team concluded action at the ITA Regional Championships on Monday morning at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center in Coral Gables, Florida. The Seminoles combined for nine victories throughout the championships, including three singles and six doubles wins.

Freshmen Ariana Gilbert and Nicole Okhtenberg made a deep doubles run, advancing to the semifinals of the main draw doubles bracket. Gilbert and Okhtenberg were the first duo to advance to the semifinal round at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships since the 2019-2020 season, when junior Emmanuelle Salas and freshman Victoria Allen, as well as seniors Nandini Das and Andrea Garcia, made a run to the semifinals.

Gilbert and Okhtenberg defeated Sofia Fernandez Figueras and Viktorie Hazmukova of FIU 8-3, and advanced to the round of 16 via a retirement. The duo then advanced to the semifinals, defeating FAU's Alexia Patru and Malika Amirgalieva 8-6 and Kennesaw State's Ema Baraniakova and Adela Zingorova 8-5.

The freshmen duos run ended just one match short of the main draw doubles final, falling to the No. 4-seeded Emma Dong and Ranah Akua Stoiber 6-3, 6-0.

Freshman JoAnna Kennedy and senior Laura Putz teamed up to earn two wins before falling in the round of 16. Kennedy and Putz dominated their first match, winning 8-0 over Mercer's Manan Rosa-Dubreuil and Kayleigh Didderiens. The Florida State duo followed this with an 8-7 (7) victory over Georgia's tandem of Bella Payne and Patricija Paukstye.

In singles, Putz and Okhtenberg began the championships in the qualifying round on Thursday.

Putz and Okhtenberg both won their qualifying singles matches to advance to the main draw. Putz cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Florida Gulf Coast's Africa Burillo Berezak, and Okhtenberg knocked off Georgia Southern's Angelina Mihajlovic 6-3, 6-1.

Main draw action in singles and doubles began Friday.

Kennedy, Okhtenberg and junior Mary Boyce Deatherage each grabbed a singles win in the consolation bracket.

Deatherage defeated Malika Amirgalieva from Florida Atlantic 6-2, 6-2. The No. 9-seeded Kennedy beat Maria Vargas of FGCU 6-1, 6-3, and Okhtenberg finished strong in her match against May Fadida, taking it in the tiebreak 6-3, 6-4, 1-0(7).
