Softball Hosts Unconquered Invitational

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The No. 15 Florida State softball team (7-3, 4-2) is back home as they host the Unconquered Invitational this weekend (February 26-28). The Seminoles host Florida Gulf Coast, Southeastern Louisiana and Florida A&M across the three-day Invitational.
Florida State is scheduled to play three games on the weekend; one on Friday and two on Saturday.
The Seminoles head into the weekend after going 4-2 in the ACC Pod hosted by Georgia Tech. FSU has been quick on the base paths, stealing 27 bases in 10 games this season. Those 27 stolen bases are five more than the program’s previous high through 10 games (22). FSU currently leads the nation in stolen bases.
Florida State kicks off their weekend on Friday, February 26 at 8:00 pm against Florida Gulf Coast on the ACC Network. The Seminoles take on FGCU again on Saturday, February 27 at 12:30 pm. That game is followed up by FSU’s second game of the day and last game of the weekend against SE Louisiana at 3:00 pm.
Both games on Saturday will be broadcast live on ACCNX.
Florida State vs. FGCU
Florida State and FGCU have met six times, with all of their meetings happening since 2012. Florida State is 6-0 against Florida Gulf Coast, with three shutout victories. FGCU has only scored four runs in six games against Florida State. The two programs last met in 2018, when Florida State won 6-2 in the Unconquered Invitational.
In 2018, Sydney Sherrill had three hits and two RBIs in four at-bats. Elizabeth Mason had two hits of her own, with an RBI and a walk.
Florida State vs. SE Louisiana
Florida State and Southeastern Louisiana have met twice, with both meetings resulting in FSU wins. The Seminoles won 4-1 in 2003 and 6-0 in 2005.
