No. 10 Softball Hosts Notre Dame for ACC Home Opener

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The No. 10 Florida State softball team (20-6) hosts Notre Dame (17-8) for a four-game series this weekend.
The Seminoles and Fighting Irish are scheduled to play one game on Friday, April 2 at 5 pm, a doubles header on Saturday, April 3 starting at 1 pm and one game on Sunday, April 4 at noon. Friday’s game is on the ACC Network while Saturday and Sunday’s games are on ACCNX.
FLORIDA STATE VS. NOTRE DAME
Florida State and Notre Dame have met 26 times heading into the weekend. Florida State has won 19 of the 26 meetings. Florida State is 16-5 against the Fighting Irish under head coach Lonni Alameda. The last time the two teams met was in 2019. FSU won three of the four games played that season, including a 2-0 Florida State win in the ACC Tournament semifinals. Sydney Sherrill hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning.
Through 26 games this season, the Seminoles have shown their speed recording 54 stolen bases in 60 attempts. Elizabeth Mason leads the Noles with 11 stolen bases.
The Seminole offense has scored 128 runs in the first 26 games of the season. This has come as the Seminoles have put together 43 total extra-base hits, including 14 home runs and 25 doubles to go with four triples. Elizabeth Mason is leading the way with four home runs of her own to go with six doubles. Kalei Harding leads the team with seven doubles and three triples.
Caylan Arnold and Kathryn Sandercock are leading the Seminole pitching staff. They have combined for 17 wins and 119 strikeouts. Arnold leads Florida State with 71 strikeouts and Sandercock leads the team with a 1.61 ERA.
