Dajaz DeFrand Reaches NCAA Finals In Women’s 100 Meter

AUSTIN, Tex. — Florida State freshman Dajaz DeFrand's impressive first season continued at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Texas on Thursday.
DeFrand finished ninth in the 100 meter semifinals Thursday with a time of 11.17 to secure a spot in the NCAA Championship race on Saturday.
Sophomore Alexandra Webster was clocked at 13.34 in the semifinals of the 100 meter hurdles and finished 18th. She joined DeFrand, Tyra Wilson and Faith Banks on FSU's 4×100 relay team that finished 19th in the semifinals with a time of 44.11.
Stella Weinberg finished 10th in the country in the javelin with a personal best throw of 52.45 meters.
FSU's men will compete in four events at the NCAA Championships on Friday. Milton Ingraham will be in the discus finals beginning at 7:35 p.m. The Seminoles' 4×100 relay team will race for the NCAA title at 8:02 p.m. Jeremiah Davis will be in the finals of the triple jump beginning at 8:10 p.m. and David Mullarkey will start in the finals of the 5000 meters at 9:55 p.m.
Saturday will be the majority of the women's finals including Caisa-Marie Lindfors competing in the discus, DeFrand in the 100 meters and Alyson Churchill in the 5000 meters.
Friday and Saturday's NCAA finals will be televised on ESPN2 beginning at 9:00 p.m.
