Tallahassee, Fla.    –  The No.29/23 Florida State cross country teams will travel back to Boone, N.C., for one final time this season to compete in the Covered Bridge Open on Friday morning at the Don Kennedy Trails at State Farm Fields.

The women's 5k will start at 10 a.m., followed by the men's 8k at 10:40 a.m. Live timing will be available.

"We are always grateful for opportunities," FSU head women's coach Cody Halsey said. "Between the great conditions and fitness these women have gained in the last few weeks, we are really looking forward to racing!"

The 23rd-ranked Seminoles were led by Alyson Churchill at the Firetower Project Run on Sept. 1, which was held on the same course. Churchill was dominant, crossing the line in the 5k at 16:23.48 behind a personal best. She won the race and was over one minute ahead of the second-place finisher. For her efforts, she was named the ACC Women's Performer of the Week.

Abdirizak Ibrahim led the No.29 men's team to a perfect 15-point victory in the 8k. He was the lone runner under 24 minutes, finishing at 23:53.56 for first place. Ibrahim collected the ACC Men's Performer of the Week and was also recognized as the USTFCCCA Athlete of the Week on Sept. 12.

"Our crew is looking forward to another test at State Farm Fields on Friday," FSU men's head coach Bob Braman said. "With temperatures likely in the 50's at race time, many will be looking to set lifetime bests."
