Seminoles Set to Compete at NCAA National Championship

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State cross country teams are set to send Bieke Schipperen, Rylee Blade, and Isaac Hirshman Chandler to the NCAA National Championship in Columbia, Missouri, on Saturday at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
 
The women's 6k race gets underway at 10:20 a.m. ET, followed by the men's 10k at 11:10 a.m. Fans can rely on PTTiming for live results. ESPNU will broadcast the race nationally with coverage beginning at 10:00 a.m.
 
MEET NOTES
The women's team has a total of 27 All-Americans, with the latest honoree coming from Lauren Ryan in 2021 when the Seminoles hosted at Apalachee Regional Park. The Seminole men have captured 12 All-Americans, as Adrian Wildschutt became the first Seminole to finish in the top 10 of the national championship when he won silver in 2020 with a time of 23:04.2 in the men's 10k.
 
On the women's team, Blade enters her first collegiate national championship as one of the top freshman runners following a strong first season. The Corona, California, native led the Florida State women's team in four of seven races, earning two ACC Freshman of the Week honors. At the NCAA South Regional, she recorded a personal-best time of 19:29.1 to place seventh overall and earn her first All-Region recognition. This performance ranks fifth on Florida State's all-time list.
 
Schipperen is set to represent the Seminoles in her second consecutive national championship appearance after capturing All-ACC and All-Region honors in two straight seasons. Schipperen competed at last year's national championship, finishing 57th overall with a time of 20:16.9.
 
On the men's side, Hirshman Chandler will make his national championship debut after leading the men's team in four consecutive meets in his first season as a Seminole.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Florida State cross country team competed at the NCAA South Regional Championship at John Hunt Park. Schipperen earned All-Region honors for the second consecutive year. BladeSuus Altorf, and Hirshman Chandler captured the accolade for the first time in their careers.

Blade led the Florida State women across the finish line in seventh with a personal-best time of 19:29.1, marking the highest individual finish by a true freshman since Elizabeth Funderburk in 2019. Schipperen followed in ninth, posting a career-best time of 19:40.9. Altorf was the third FSU scorer to boast a lifetime best at 19:55.7, finishing in 19th. Nicole Dinan posted a personal-best of 20:43.8 for 50th, and Maggie Bartlow rounded out Florida State's top five in 77th with a career-best 21:13.6.

The women's team finished in sixth overall with 157 points.

Hirshman Chandler paved the way for the men's 10k, finishing in 12th with a time of 29:49.5. Kaden Levings placed 30th with a new personal-best at 30:28.6 with Lucas Bouquot following Levings in 50th with a career-best of 30:58.8. Aidan Ryan was the fourth FSU scorer in 82nd at 31:44.9 and Gino Palazzolo concluded the scoring for Florida State in 111th with a time of 32:32.6.

The men's team placed 10th overall with 270 points.
