Watkins, Bol Bowen To Represent Seminoles At ACC Basketball Tip-Off

TALLAHASSEE – Senior Jamir Watkins and sophomore Taylor Bol Bowen will represent the Florida State Seminoles at the annual ACC Tip-Off at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 9. Watkins and Bol Bowen will join Seminole Head Coach Leonard Hamilton as the trio breaks down the upcoming season for the national media at the official start of the ACC basketball season.

Florida State opens its exhibition season against St. Leo University on October 24 at the Donald L. Tucker Center. The Seminoles will play their second exhibition game against West Florida on October 31 for a spooktacular game against the visiting Argonauts. Both games are set to begin at 7:00 p.m.

The Seminoles begin the regular season at home against Northern Kentucky on November 4.

Watkins is among the nation's top returning players who will be the Seminoles' team leader in his second season at Florida State. He was an All-ACC Honorable Mention selection as a junior during the 2023-24 season. Watkins, who ranked in the ACC's top 20 for scoring and rebounding during the 2023-24 season, averaged a team-leading 15.6 points and a team-leading 6.0 rebounds in 33 starts last season.

Watkins was named to the Oscar Robertson National Team of the Week by the USBWA (Nov. 28), named as the ACC Player of the Week (Co) with RJ Davis of North Carolina by the ACC Office (Nov. 27) and named the MVP of the 2023 Sunshine Slam as he developed into one of the top players in the ACC.

Bol Bowen enters his second season at Florida State as one of the AC's rising talents who has quickly seen his stock rise to All-Star levels in the ACC. He played in 31 games as a freshman and was one of 11 Seminoles who averaged 10 or more minutes played per game. Bol Bowen played in 19 of Florida State's 20 ACC games and averaged earned his career-highs for points at Boston College) and rebounds at Notre Dame as he helped the Seminoles defeat both the Eagles and the Fighting Irish on the road during the 2023-24 season.

The Seminoles will appear on Day One of the preseason media event with Duke, Georgia Tech, N.C. State along with ACC newcomers SMU and Stanford during the afternoon on October 9.

Season tickets for Florida State's home games are now on sale for as low as $150. Seminole fans interested in purchasing tickets for all regular season home games at the Donald L. Non-conference single game tickets will be available for purchase on October 15th and ACC single game tickets will go on sale to Seminole Booster members on December 2nd.
