TALLAHASSEE – Florida State cross country student-athletes Kaden Levings and Jane Eiselstein captured ACC Performers of the Week on Tuesday following their performances at the Georgia Tech XC Invitational on Friday.
Eiselstein won the women's 6k, leading the Noles to their second team victory of the season behind a tally of 34 points. The Chattanooga, Tennesse, native crossed the finish line with a winning time of 21:48.16.
"Wonderful and deserving honor for Jane to receive," said FSU women's head coach Cody Halsey. "We talk often about being unafraid to take chances and believing in your ability and training. She took the lead early on and never looked back."
"I was proud that she not only bet on herself, but she led our team with confidence for the team win as well." added Halsey "I'm excited for her growth, it's been tremendous to watch."
On the men's side, Levings opened his first collegiate season in the 8k securing his first career win with a time of 25:07.55.
"This is a well-earned piece of recognition for Kaden," said assistant coach Ian Frazier. "He's been patiently and quietly working all summer and fall to establish himself as a key contributor to our squad and his finish at Georgia Tech this weekend is the biproduct of those efforts."
"The ACC is the deepest and most respected cross country conference in the NCAA, and for him to receive this recognition on such a busy weekend of racing is a huge honor and helps raise the bar for our program." added Fraizer.
