11/13/2025 11:05:00 AM | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country
TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State cross country teams will continue its postseason run on Friday morning at the NCAA South Regional Championships in Huntsville, Alabama.
The regional meet will be held at the John Hunt Cross Country Course, with the women's 6k set to begin at 9:30 a.m. ET, followed by the men's 10k at 10:30 a.m. The meet will air on ESPN+, while live results are available by Delta timing.
The event will serve as one of nine NCAA regional meets across the nation this weekend that will provide athletes with the opportunity to qualify for the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships that will take place on November 22 in Columbia, Missouri.
Florida State will look to send team or individual qualifiers to the NCAA Championships with strong performances at the regional meet. The top two teams for each gender from each of the nine regions will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships. The top four individuals not on those qualifying teams will also receive automatic bids to Missouri. Additionally, 13 teams and two individuals nationwide from each gender will receive at-large bids, which are set to be revealed during the NCAA Division I Cross Country Selection Show on Saturday at 5 p.m.
MEET NOTES
Florida State has claimed a combined total of 12 regional titles in program history, which includes seven on the women's side and five on the men's. Seven women have won individual titles, and five men have been crowned regional champions.
Both teams enter this year's regional meet in the top 10 of the South Region as the women are currently ranked No. 4, while the men come in at No. 9.
The Seminole women will face another tough lineup after competing against six nationally ranked teams at the ACC Cross Country Championships. The women's squad will face two top-20 teams, No. 3 Florida and No. 15 Alabama.
Last season, the women finished third as a team, highlighted by four All-Region performances from Bieke Schipperen, Agnes McTighe, Brooke Mullins, and Elizabeth Barrow.
Returning lone all-region junior Schipperen is coming off yet another excellent performance at the ACC Cross Country Championships. Schipperen led the women's 6k for the Seminoles with a 15th-place finish and a personal-best time of 19:55.7, earning her second consecutive All-ACC honors of her career.
Joining Schipperen will be Suus Altorf and Nicole Dinan, who will be competing in their second career regional championship. Rylee Blade, Lindy White, Brooke Hooper, Maggie Bartlow, Ella Menke, and Ava Povich are set to make their first-ever NCAA appearance.
On the men's side, six ranked teams will toe the line: No. 4 Virginia, No. 5 Syracuse, No. 12 Wake Forest, No. 16 Notre Dame, No. 24 Virginia Tech, and No. 27 North Carolina.
The Seminole men are looking for a ticket to the NCAA Championships after narrowly missing out last year with a fourth-place finish. Lucas Bouqout and Kaden Levings will lead the way as the veteran runners. Parker Adams, Aniol Borras, Isaac Hirshman Chandler, Gino Palazzolo, Aidan Ryan, and Zach Trotter will represent Florida State at the NCAA meet for the first time in their careers.
