ATLANTA – Another two school records were broken as the No. 24/RV Florida State swimming and diving team continued competition at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday in Atlanta.

On the second day of the three-day meet, junior Max Wilson improved his program-record time in the 100 yard backstroke and the women's 200 medley relay swam an NCAA A qualifying time to stamp their name at No. 1 on FSU's top-10 list. The men's 200 medley relay also achieved an NCAA A cut on Saturday.

Victories were earned by the women's 200 medley relay, Wilson in the 100 backstroke and senior Maddy Huggins and junior Tommaso Baravelli, both in the 100 breaststroke.

The Seminoles registered 18 top-10 times in school history and totaled 14 top-three finishes against a highly-competitive field that featured six top-25 teams at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center.

"It was another amazing day of racing and diving," FSU head coach Neal Studd said. Two school records and two more NCAA A cuts, I am so proud of how our team is doing this weekend."

The Georgia Tech Invitational wraps up on Sunday, with prelims at 10 a.m. ET and finals at 5 p.m. Along with No. 19 Georgia Tech, FSU is taking to the pool against No. 11/17 Michigan and No. 15/18 Auburn.

Wilson already owned the school record in the 100 backstroke, but improved on his time in Saturday morning's prelims. He notched the top prelim time of 45.17 to best his previous time atop the record books of 45.24, which he set last season. In Saturday night's final, Wilson won the event in 45.26.

Fifth-year Mason Herbert was close behind Wilson in third place in the final with a time of 46.18. Sophomore Andrew Rich placed fourth in 46.56 to move up to No. 7 in school history. Rich entered the day at No. 10 and rose to No. 9 after the prelims. Wilson, Herbert and Rich all swam NCAA B cut times on Saturday.

Saturday night's finals began with another record and the Seminoles' first NCAA A time of the day. Freshman Alice Velden, Huggins, graduate student Jenny Halden and senior Gloria Muzito won the 200 medley relay in 1:35.13. Topping the record books by 0.27 seconds, the foursome picked up an NCAA A cut by more than one second.

The men's 200 medley relay also posted an NCAA A qualifying time with a mark of 1:23.60. An A time by 0.02 seconds, fifth year Mason Herbert, Baravelli, junior Sam Bork and senior Jokubas Keblys entered their names in the record book at No. 4 all-time. That swim came in a time trial, and the foursome also finished third in the event's final in 1:24.07.

Florida State swept the 100 breaststroke events. First it was Huggins, who touched the wall in 59.39. She edged out junior teammate Julia Mansson who was third in 1:00.44. Moments later, Baravelli moved up in the record books with a win of his own. His time of 51.80 is No. 2 in school history after he entered the day at No. 4. Freshman Lleyton Arnold (53.17, No. 6 all-time) and junior Marcos Egri-Martin (53.39, No. 9 all-time) also posted top-10 times in school history. All five Seminoles notched NCAA B qualifying times in the event.

Velden also stamped her name in the record books individually, as she was second in the 100 backstroke in 52.35. The B cut mark is No. 2 all-time after she entered the top 10 list at No. 6 in the prelims.

The Seminoles finished second and third in the 100 butterfly courtesy of senior Edith Jernstedt and Halden. Jernstedt was the runner-up in 52.06 to move up one spot to No. 5 in school history. Halden was just behind her in third in 52.18, a time that is sixth-fastest all-time after she entered the charts at No. 7 in the prelims. Both are NCAA B times.

Fifth-year Yordan Yanchev posted a second-place finish with the No. 2 time in school history in the 200 freestyle. His mark of 1:33.26 moves him up one spot in the record books. Sophomore Gustav Olsson was fifth in the final in 1:34.60. Also an NCAA B time, Olsson sits at No. 7 in FSU history after he debuted at No. 9 in the morning's prelims.

In the diving events, graduate student Samantha Vear led the way with a runner-up finish on 3-meter thanks to a score of 325.90 in the final.

Bork was third in the 100 butterfly final in 45.43 after a prelim time of 45.42 that is No. 3 on the Seminole top-10 list. Freshman Logan Robinson was fourth in the final in 45.94, a time that puts him at seventh in the record books. Freshman Michel Arkhangelsky joined Bork and Robinson with a finals appearance and NCAA B times.

The 800 freestyle relay ended the day, as the men placed second in 6:17.97. Robinson, Olsson, junior Utku Kurtdere and Yanchev posted the fourth-fastest time in school history and an NCAA B finish. Just before them, the women's team of Huggins, Jernstedt, junior Sophie Freeman and senior Brooke Arnold were third in their relay.

Freshman Mathias Christensen etched his name at No. 4 in the 400 individual medley top-10 list, after debuting at No. 5 in the prelims. His NCAA B time of 3:48.23 was joined by Kurtdere's 3:48.29 in the prelims, which moved him into a tie for No. 6, from eighth all-time.

Huggins began the prelims with a 4:15.63 in the 400 individual medley. The NCAA B mark put her at No. 7 all-time in Florida State history.

On Friday to begin the three-day competition, Robinson set the FSU record in the 200 yard butterfly and the women's 400 medley relay posted the best time in program history as a total of nine top-10 times in the record books were achieved. The Seminoles notched nine top-three finishes, with three victories.
