Seminoles Ranked Third in AVCA Preseason Poll, Anderson Named CCSA Preseason Player of the Year

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State beach volleyball team begins its 2024 season ranked third nationally in the Preseason Coaches' Poll that was announced Friday afternoon. The Seminoles received 393 votes, putting them only behind UCLA and the defending national champions, USC.
Graduate student Maddie Anderson is returning for her fifth season at Florida State. The three-time All-American was selected as the CCSA Preseason Player of the Year in a unanimous decision, adding to her decorated resume. Anderson and two other Seminoles, sophomore Alexis Durish and junior Anna Long, were chosen to represent Florida State in this year's CCSA Preseason All-Conference team. All three helped Florida State advance to the semifinal round of last year's NCAA Tournament.
Florida State is looking to continue its history of success after winning seven straight CCSA championships (2016-22) and appearing in three of the last seven national championship matches (2016, 2018 & 2022).
