Noles Host Western Carolina

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State baseball program returns home to host Western Carolina for three games beginning Friday at 5:00 p.m. The Seminoles remained perfect following a 7-4 victory Tuesday at Jacksonville, FSU's first road tilt of the young season.
The series will stream on ACC Network Extra. Fans in Tallahassee can listen on WFLA 100.7 FM or around the country on the FSU Gameday app.

Sophomore Cam Leiter will start on the mound for the Seminoles on Friday. In Leiter's FSU debut on Opening Day versus Butler, he went five scoreless innings striking out 13 batters, giving up one hit, and allowed two walks. Following his outing Leiter was named ACC Pitcher of the Week and the National Pitcher of the Week from D1Baseball, Perfect Game and the NCBWA.
Sophomore Jamie Arnold is starting on the mound Saturday. In his first start of the season this past Sunday Arnold threw five innings, giving up two hits, no walks, zero earned runs, and struck out nine batters, earning his first win of the season.
Western Carolina enters the series 3-1 overall, opening the season with a sweep of Iona before falling Wednesday to USC Upstate. The Seminoles and Catamounts last met in 2002 and FSU leads the all-time series, 4-1.
