Seminoles Claim ACC Road Victory, 63-62, At Boston College

2/6/2024 10:03:00 PM | Men's Basketball

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.  With the combined efforts of its entire roster, Florida State defeated Boston College in a close 63-62 win at the Conte Forum. The win for the Seminoles improved their ACC record to 7-4.

The Seminoles struck while the iron was hot and took an early lead thanks to a Jamir Watkins' layup less than a minute into play. The rest of the team followed suit and Florida State found itself on a 21-7 run midway through the first half.

Boston College would not stay down, however. They fought back to make the score 37-31, with Florida State maintaining its lead heading into the half.

Even with the Eagles bringing it within one point with 10 seconds left in the game, the Seminoles would hold strong and stay ahead and earn the win, as Florida State did not trail Boston College at any point in the game.

Watkins led the Seminoles with 10 points and was the only Seminole to reach double-digit scoring during the game. However, Florida State saw nine different players score during the matchup.

The Seminoles' defense forced 15 turnovers, scored 19 points off turnovers, and recovered 24 rebounds over the course of the game.

The Seminoles will return to Tallahassee to play a home game at the Donald L. Tucker Center against Virginia on Saturday, February 10, at 8:00 p.m.
