Noles Run-Rule Gators – Again – To Sweep Season Series

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State (27-5) completed the season sweep over Florida (17-15) in the with a 19-4 run-rule victory on Tuesday evening at Dick Howser Stadium. Every player in the starting lineup scored a run on the night and contributed to the largest margin of victory for the Seminoles in the series history.
FSU last scored 19 runs over Florida back on February 17, 2001, one shy of the most runs scored over the Gators in one game. The Noles outscored Florida, 45-15, during the sweep.
The bats were hot as FSU scorched five home runs in the contest including Marco Dinges' second grand slam of the season in the fourth to build on the existing double-digit lead. James Tibbs III, Daniel Cantu, Alex Lodise, and Jaxson West also hit homers for the Noles, FSU's third game of the year with five home runs.
Dinges, Cam Smith and Drew Faurot had three hits a piece. Dinges led FSU with five RBI, West added four while Cantu and Lodise had three each.
Andrew Armstrong took his fourth win of the season in his relief outing, conceding just one hit through 3.0 innings of work. Brady Louck, Hudson Rowan and Connor Hults combined to allow one run over the final 3.0 innings.

OF NOTE:
- Florida State swept Florida in a three-game series for the first time since 2000.
- FSU's 19 runs scored are the most against Florida since 2001 (also 19) and one shy of the series record. The 45 runs vs. Florida on the season are FSU's most in a three-game series with UF.
- FSU set a season high with 19 hits. FSU hit five home runs for the third time this year; the Noles had not done it in a game since 2021.
- FSU hit around in the first and second innings; FSU's six runs in the first inning were its most in an opening frame this year.
- Cam Smith and Jaime Ferrer extended their on-base streaks in the first inning – Smith singled and scored a run and has reached safely in 42 consecutive games. Ferrer was hit by a pitch and has reached in 38 straight.
- Smith's 42-game streak is tied for the 19th-longest in program history.
- Ferrer was hit by two pitches, his 11th and 12th of the season. His 41 career HBPs are tied for fifth in FSU history.
- James Tibbs III hit a double and home run, his seventh-consecutive multi-hit game. His seven-game hit streak ties a career high; in that span, Tibbs has 17 hits, six doubles, four home runs and 16 RBI. Tibbs entered Tuesday leading the country in RBI and RBI per game.
- Tibbs' 41 career home runs are tied for 13th in program history.
- Jaxson West's home run was his first as a Seminole and second of his career. West's three runs and four RBI were career bests.
- Andrew Armstrong improved to 4-0 on the season; he had two wins over 53 career appearances during his first three seasons.
