Golf's Kjettrup Named As Cobalt/GCAA All-American Scholar

TALLAHASSEE – Frederik Kjettrup, who graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in sport management from Florida State in May, has been named to the 2024 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America. It marks the third consecutive year the three-time All-American on the course has been named to the All-American Scholar team in the classroom by the men's collegiate golf governing board.

Kjettrup turned professional at the conclusion of the Seminoles' 2024 season and has won his first two starts on the PGA Tour Americas. He claimed his first win as a professional in his PGA TOUR Americas debut at The Beachlands Victoria Open presented by Times Colonist (June 23). Kjettrup then won 2024 ATB Classic (June 30), to become the first player since 2012 to win his first two starts on his member tour.

"Academic success has always been a priority to me and my family," said Kjettrup. "Throughout my career I have worked hard to excel academically. During my career at Florida State, my teammates and I were provided with incredible resources that help us perform well in the classroom. I am very happy to say that with the help of many people within the Florida State Department of Athletics and many understanding professors, I am a proud Florida State graduate." 

Kjettrup (Aabybro, Denmark) is one of the most academically decorated players in the history of the Seminole program. He was named to 2023 ACC Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year, to the 2021, 2023 and 2024 All-ACC Academic Golf teams, and was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll in each of his four seasons as a Seminole.

"Being an outstanding student and an outstanding athlete is very difficult," said Florida State Head Coach Trey Jones. "Freddy's dedication to his academics alongside his golf is exemplary. He has set a very high bar for our team and shown his younger teammates what comprehensive excellence is all about."

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar team, a player must be an upperclassman both academically and athletically and must have participated in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds and have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I.
