Florida State Women's Tennis Set for ITA Southeast Regional Championships

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida State women's tennis team travels to the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, beginning on Thursday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
The five-day tournament features a minimum of 64 singles participants in the qualifying round and a minimum of 64 individuals in the Main Draw. Doubles will feature a qualifying round of 32 teams, followed by a minimum of 32 pairs in the Main Draw. From this, the two singles finalists from each of the 13 regions will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship. Meanwhile, the doubles champion from each region will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship. The 2025 NCAA Singles and Doubles Tennis Championships will be held November 18-23 at the USTA National Campus.
Florida State will have six athletes at the event. Freshman Abby Kelliher will be playing in her first collegiate tournament for FSU.
Bissett led FSU at last year's regional championship, advancing to the round of 16 in singles and the quarterfinal round of the doubles competition. Mary Boyce Deatherage earned her way to the round of 32 in 2024.
FSU most recently competed at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina, earning seven singles victories at the event. Bissett led the way for FSU, finishing the tournament 3-0 in singles.
