ATLANTA – The No.18/RV Florida State swimming and diving team concluded the Dual Meet Tournament with a loss to Auburn in the third-place meet on Saturday at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.
After defeating Army in Friday's opening session and falling to No. 7/8 NC State in Friday's second round, the Seminoles suffered the 503-286 loss to the Tigers in the matchup for third place.
"We had some really good events and at times just missed out on some finishes, which cost us," FSU head coach Neal Studd said. "I am excited with how we competed. We learned a lot and took some great steps forward this weekend."
The men recorded Florida State's first win of Saturday's dual in the 400 freestyle relay. The team consisting of sophomore Logan Robinson, junior Gustav Olsson, sophomore Michel Arkhangelsky and senior Sam Bork touched the wall in 2:51.34.
Robinson picked up his second win of the day, and first individually, in the 200 butterfly (1:45.14) and Arkhangelsky did the same in the 100 freestyle (43.14).
Senior Mathias Christensen took first in the 200 individual medley (1:45.57), while senior Julia Mansson earned her second individual win of the weekend in the 200 breaststroke (2:12.00).
On springboard, Kayleigh Clark finished first on 3-meter. Her score of 162.85 gave her the win by almost 10 points.
Next up, Florida State will host the All-Florida Invite at the Morcom Aquatics Center on October 24th at 5:00 p.m. ET. FSU's men and women will face Florida Southern, while the women also will compete against West Florida and North Florida.
