Florida State Prepares for Sean Earl Lakefront Invite

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State cross country teams will compete in the windy city on Friday, taking part in the 46th annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational on October 3 at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course in Chicago. 
The Tom Cooney Championship Races will kick off the action with the women's 6k at 10:00 a.m. ET and the men's 8k at 10:40 a.m. ET. Live timing will be available. Spectators can also purchase general admission tickets.

The men's team faces a deep championship 8k race ahead of Friday morning as three top-25 teams will be in attendance: No. 7 Wisconsin, No. 24 Washington, and No. 16 North Carolina.

The Seminoles will be represented by Lucas BouquotKaden LevingsZach Trotter, Gino Palazzolo, Anoil Borras, and Aidan Ryan. Transfer junior Isaac Hirshman Chandler is making his return to the lineup after a two-week hiatus.

Competition on the women's side for the 6k will be intense, featuring an impressive roster of opponents, as seven of the top 30 teams will be toeing the line, including No. 2 NC State, No. 7 Providence, No. 11 Washington, No. 18 North Carolina, No. 21 Wisconsin, No. 26 Northwestern, and No. 29 Minnesota.

LAST TIME OUT
Florida State hosted its lone home meet of the season on September 26 for the FSU XC Invite at Apalachee Regional Park as both teams finished in the top three overall standings.

Three Seminoles placed in the top 10 for the women's 6k, with Blade leading the way in third in her Seminole debut with a time of 20:03.5.  Schiperren opened her junior season with a sixth-place finish at 20:34.1.   Hooper was the third FSU runner to cross the line in ninth with a time of 21:00.3.  Povich followed in 16th with a personal best time of 21:50.4 and Bartlow concluded the scoring card for the Seminoles on 17th at 21:48.3. 

Four Seminoles placed in the top 20 on the men's side.  Ryan led the 8k for Florida State, finishing in 11th place with a time of 25:03.3.  Levings placed 13th with a time of 25:06.6. Palazzolo finished in 18th at 25:13.7. Bouquot followed behind at 19th at 25:14.7.  Trotter rounded out the top five for the Seminoles, placing 54th at 26:08.2.

The men's team placed third overall with a score of 113 points.
